About the event
Join us for an opportunity to impact nation wide chronic disease prevention, as we share valuable input on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health!
This will help map out a solution for the White House on bridging the gap to end hunger and increase healthy eating and physical activity by 2030, so that fewer Americans experience diet-related diseases like diabetes, obesity, and hypertension.
Your Ideas and experiences shared will help inform a national strategy that will be announced at the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health in September 2022. The following pillars and questions are the focus of the conversation, consider them as you prepare to join us.
The 5 pillars:
- Improve food access and affordability
- Integrate nutrition and health
- Empower all consumers to make and have access to healthy choices
- Support physical activity for all
- Enhance nutrition and food security research.
Discusion:
- How has hunger or diet-related diseases impacted you, your family, and/or your community?
- What are opportunities for public- and private-sector partners to work together to achieve each pillar?
- What innovative ideas or activities do you know of that could inform decision making at the national level?
- If a change is implemented, what barriers exist for people to experience all of the benefits?
We suggest focusing on one or two pillars to answer the questions above.
*Agenda will be emailed to all registrants a day before the meeting.
