The truth is, we will always be exposed to toxins in our environment, food and household items. However, it is important to continuously live a clean and toxin free lifestyle rather than a quick fix cleanse that may not entirely yield the benefits we are looking for on the long run.
More importantly, you need to know what exactly you are 'detoxing;' from and avoid all the potential toxins your body is exposed to so you can avoid a 'retox'.
What's the point of doing a detox only to need it shortly after you finished one?
Doing a detox seems like a difficult feat for many, it is usually associated with low calories, juice only diets and a lot restrictions.
But, I’ve made it super easy with my no-fluff super easy 4-Day Detox, which is one of the perks included in my 'Breaking the Detox-Retox Cycle Bundle'.
Calorie deprivation is not the goal here, so you will not feel deprived in any way. In fact, you’ll feel quite the opposite.
Here’s my go-to 24 Hour Detox:
Upon Waking Drink: Morning Aloe water and honey Elixir
1 cup warm or room temp Aloe vera Juice
Pinch of cinnamon and 1teaspoon raw honey OR a couple of drops of stevia .
Breakfast: Mulberry Super food Smoothie Bliss
1 cup unsweetened almond/coconut/hemp or rice milk
½ cup frozen or fresh, organic wild Mulberries
½ cup kale
1tablespoon coconut oil
1 tablespoon flax meal or chia seeds
Pinch of cinnamon
Stevia or raw honey to sweeten
Snack:10 carrots and 1/3 cup of Hummus
Lunch: Spring Salad
2 cups mixed greens or spinach, chopped
½ cup carrot, chopped
½ cup cucumber, chopped
1 cup artichokes (BPA free, canned in water)
¼ cup hemp seeds or seed of your choice
Fresh herbs, for garnish (basil, parsely, mint and/or chives)
Sea salt and freshly ground pepper
Chop vegetables and mix in a large bowl. Top your salad with avocado and hemp seeds. Drizzle with dressing of choice.
Snack: ½ avocado w/ tomato & sea salt
Dinner: Carrot Ginger Soup
4 cups chopped carrots
6 cups bone broth or water
1medium onion, minced
2-inch nub ginger root,peeled and grated
Sea salt to taste
Chopped fresh parsley, dill, or cilantro Put carrots, ginger, and onion in a pot with broth. Bring to boil then cover and reduce heat and simmer 20-25 minutes. Remove from heat and put everything in a blender or food processor to purée.
Serve hot topped with fresh herbs.
Evening: Immune Boosting Ginger Elixir
1 cup of warm or room temp water
Juice from ½ lemon
1teaspoon freshly grated ginger or
1 tablespoon if tolerated
1teaspoon raw honey or stevia
Bring the water and ginger to a boil, and then lower flame. Add the lemon and keep at a low simmer for a few minutes. Then pour into a mug & nourish your body.
